Our team here at Fitzgerald Brothers Beverages (FBB) is full of hardworking and talented employees who ensure our daily operations run smoothly, and today we’d like to shine a spotlight on John Eastman, one of our long-term, best Driver Merchandisers. For over 15 years, John has been a key member of our delivery team, delivering Pepsi-Cola products throughout the Glens Falls Region and building best in class relationships with customers.
John brings passion, enthusiasm, and energy to the job every day, and below you can learn more about his background and what it’s like to be a Driver Merchandiser at FBB.
1) What’s your work-related background, and what drew you to working at FBB?
I’ve worked at several stocking and warehouse positions. As for what drew me to working for FBB, originally I heard about it from Gary Needham (Delivery Team Member), as we worked together before here.
After that, it became about wanting to serve people and make them happy. I take pride in serving FBB and their customers.
2) How long have you been working at FBB?
I have been working for FBB for nearly 20 years.
3) What’s your favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of my job is seeing people, serving them, making them happy, and putting smiles on their faces. It’s something different every day.
4) What’s the most challenging part of the job?
The most challenging part of my job is if someone is unhappy with my job performance.
5) What advice would you give someone who is joining the team as a driver?
My advice to a new person that’s joining the team as a driver is to at least give the job a year before you make a judgment call.
6) What would people be surprised to learn about your job?
People might be surprised to learn that the bosses are really nice and treat you like a person, not just an employee.
7) Do you have any favorite activities in the Glens Falls area?
Besides hanging out with my family, my favorite activity in the Glens Falls area is to shop at Lowe’s.
8) What’s your favorite Pepsi-Cola. Beverage?
MOUNTAIN DEW!
John and our other Driver Merchandisers work hard to deliver Pepsi-Cola products in Warren, Washington, and northern Saratoga counties, conduct proper merchandising, and develop a strong rapport with our local customers.
